Kunskapsförmedlingen (in English Result Center) is a meeting place for Swedish research in product and production development, with the aim of making research results more accessible to industry, as well as strengthening collaboration between universities, institutes and business. The presented results are derived from the research conducted by Sweden’s leading research programs. Project objectives for “Operations and Development Kunskapsförmedlingen 3.1” is to secure operations (technical and editorial work), conduct graphic and functional development of the website.
Expected results are a new graphic layout with new templates for better clarity, increased number of updated seminars, projects, researcher presentations, announcements and news (logbook), and increased visibility in social media. This is expected to increase traffic to the site and the number of participants at meetings in the Knowledge Tour. Long-term impact is increased availability of academia’s research results for industry and vice versa, increased exchange of ideas for future research, and enhanced collaboration between universities, institutes and business.
The Result Center and the Knowledge Tour are run by Swedish research financiers and researchers in product and production development through the Management Group, which is also the editorial board. The project’s implementation, decided by this group, consists mainly of programming, implementation of new graphic layout, project management and communication. Seminars, projects, announcements and news (logbook) are published by the editorial board and research presentations by individual researchers (external users). Editorial material is produced by an appointed editor.

With globalization and other megatrends as demographic changes and climate change, more knowledge is needed regarding production in an international perspective. PADOK Study Visit in India 2016 have given an increased knowledge regarding how production is conducted in India, some of the challenges producing companies in that region is facing and how Swedish companies interested in investing in production in India could act to establish themselves in the region.

Tooling constitutes a significant part in the economical investment of the hot stamping process. Significant benefits in production economy and environmental benefits can be attained by improving the tribological performance in hot forming operations of automotive components. The main idea of this project is to create tailored tool surfaces on dies made from cheaper and easier to manufacture tool steel for the hot stamping of ultra-high strength steels.
