The main theme of the 2018 conference is ‘design in the era of digitalization’, which covers a wide range of potential topics, ranging from the use of big data in the early phases of the design process, to the use of virtual reality in design, and from the use of physical computing in design, to design automation.
We are pleased to announce that Norddesign 2018 will be held on August 14 – 17 in Linköping, Sweden. The main theme of the 2018 conference is ‘design in the era of digitalization’, which covers a wide range of potential topics, ranging from the use of big data in the early phases of the design process, to the use of virtual reality in design, and from the use of physical computing in design, to design automation. There are also general tracks for other papers within the scope of the conference.

The abstract should contain between 300 and 500 words and should be uploaded to the conference system no later than 17 of December 2017.

Norddesign is a bi-annual Nordic conference, covering [product] design, design engineering and design education in its full width. Topics include engineering, manufacturing, aesthetics, emotions, ergonomics, sustainability, and business. Norddesign is known for its friendly and informal atmosphere. The conference will take place at Linköping University and is organized by the Division of Machine Design at the Department of Management and Engineering.
