Virtual modeling of physical phenomena to try and explain and obtain useful data for optimized and sustainable solutions to problems.

Forskning

Dr. Salomonsson is a Professor in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization towards Computational Mechanics at the University of Skövde, Sweden. He received his M.Sc. in Engineering Physics and Ph.D. in Applied Mechanics from Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden. He later went on to a postdoctoral research fellow position at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, USA, at the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Department of Aerospace and Space Engineering. Prior to joining the University of Skövde, he has worked at Jönköping University, Jönköping, Sweden, on research related to material characterization, injection molding, biomechanics and structural mechanics. He has also worked at R&D departments in industry, mainly as Lead Analysis Engineer. Lately, Dr. Salomonsson’s research has been focused on three specific areas, namely; Data Driven Analytics, Virtual Process Modeling and Experimental validation. All three areas support the development and analyses of digital twins for various application problems.
