The workshop will be hosted by Lars-Erik Rännar, Associate Professor in Mechanical Engineering at Mid-Sweden University in Östersund.
The industry has traditionally had three main means of manufacturing: moulding, welding and forming. The past 20 years of technology have provided yet another way means of manufacturing; 3D-printing or additive manufacturing.
he development toward shorter series makes additive manufacturing all the more interesting. Additive manufacturing presents new geometric possibilities to construct objects of less weight with new functions, new material and with reduced wastage.
