Produktion2030: Sustainable Work in the Manufacturing Industry

There is an acute shortage of qualified and competitive labor in the Swedish manufacturing industry. Now Produktion2030 puts people at the center and offers project support to create the work of the future. Human capabilities must be strengthened with the help of technology to make jobs in industry even more attractive, productive and socially sustainable. Employees should also have access to new tools to reduce the industry´s climate impact.

The work of the future should be based on people’s abilities and reinforce with the help of technology to make jobs in industry attractive, productive and socially sustainable. As many as possible should have the opportunity to work safely, efficiently and competently. Employees in industry should also be given tools to effectively contribute to reducing climate impact.

The strategic innovation program Produktion2030 announces SEK 27 million for research and innovation projects. Consortia can apply for a maximum of SEK 5 million in grant financing. The project partners must finance at least 50% of the project’s total budget. The project proposals must primarily be technically oriented with a focus on strengthening people’s ability to work efficiently and sustainably. Projects can also be about rapid and skills development or tools to reduce companies’ environmental impact.

Produktion2030 finances projects that contribute to a sustainable and competitive manufacturing industry in Sweden. We are happy to see project results tested, demonstrated and validated in existing test beds, laboratory environments or equivalent.

Research and innovation projects can have a project period of no more than 3 years. Project consortia must contain at least three industrial companies in the Swedish manufacturing industry, at least one player from a university or college and at least one player from a research institute.

What can you apply for
Research and innovation projects within Produktion2030’s industrial challenge areas with a focus on climate and social sustainability and a focus on qualified labor in the manufacturing industry.

Who can you apply?
Colleges, universities and research institutes in collaboration with at least three companies. The constellation must have a minimum of five parties.

How much can you apply for?
A maximum of SEK 5 million can be applied for for three years with a support level of a maximum of 50 percent of the project’s eligible costs.

Important assessment criteria
– The project will contribute to great societal and industrial benefits, as well as a positive environmental impact.
– The project must have great news value and research height.
– The project will focus on one or more of Produktion2030’s challenge areas.
– Project results must be spread widely outside the consortium for maximum effect.
– The project consortium must utilize diversity and gender equality for the best possible results.
