Syftet med kursen är att öka deltagarnas förståelse för nyckelkoncept, och att utveckla deras kompetens and färdigheter i att genomföra kvalitativ dataanalys. Deltagarna kommer utveckla en förmåga att bedöma och utvärdera val av analytiska metoder till ett adekvat sett av empirisk data. Kursen syftar därutöver också på att utöka deltagarnas förståelse för premisserna för publiceringar baserade på kvalitativ dataanalys i vetenskapliga journaler.

Course content 

In this course the participants get familiarized with, and learn how to use, a range of techniques and methods for qualitative data analysis, for example:

Course organisation

The course is divided into 6 course sessions, including the course introduction. The course will be held online or at campus, depending on the national recommendations related to the pandemic.

Examination

GRU1: Individual examination, written and oral, with focus on key concepts, methods and approaches in qualitative analysis (examination of the course literature).

SEM1: Group examination, oral, planning and completion of a seminar with focus on selected technique for qualitative data analysis. (Assignment 1)

INL1: Individual examination, written and oral, analysis of empirical data and reflection on the result, including presentation of results from analysis of qualitative data. (Assignment 2).

Fee for late drop-out

This course is included in the Produktion2030 program, and it is therefore free of charge for PhD student members of Graduate School Produktion2030. However, in case of drop-out later than 3 weeks before course start, a fee of 1 000 SEK per course credit will be charged the student’s home institution.
