Yasir Al Naamo

BSc Civil Engineering

He is trying to find out the mechanical and physical effects of loads and environment on materials.

He is a civil engineer who attained his bachelor’s degree in July 2019. His true passion for mechanical engineering began when he was a teenager, but, after he graduated from school, he realized that he will be more successful in civil engineering since his father was a civil engineer and he was impressed with how the buildings are analyzed, designed, and constructed. At engineering college, he focused mainly on structural analysis and design subjects. During his two years of working after graduation and due to his passion to be a professional engineer, he was a creative engineer. On-site he suggested improvements to designs which saved cost and time, and always tried to find better ways for execution. Apart from executing a number of projects, he has designed several RC structures that have been constructed. Currently, he is studying M.Sc in Engineering of Structures at Warsaw University of Technology and will graduate on February 2023 with a high GPA.

Research

His bachelor’s graduation thesis was under the title of RC Multi-Storey Building Design. He and his team planned, analyzed, and designed a six-storey building. The building was an office and the floor plans were designed for that purpose. They used two different analysis approaches i.e. manual and automated methods to analyze the structure. In the later spets, they used ACI code to design reinforced concrete members and provide detailed drawings.

After he graduated and during his work as a civil engineer and due to the need by the employer to design some structures. He was doing research and studying reference books to improve his knowledge of structural analysis and design.

At the current time, he is doing an MSc graduation thesis under the title “Design Of The System Of Dismentable Prefabricated Residential Building” In this new technique of construction suggested by him, precast concrete members with end plates are used which can be assembled on-site to provide quite fast execution and the possibility of reusing members after the lifetime of structure for other new buildings. In addition, smart machines can be used in the construction process. The challenge of this project is that there is no reference or existing structure designed with this technique and the effect of everything should be considered in the design.
