Professor at the Entrepreneurship & Innovation research team at Luleå university of technology and fellow at Institute for Management of Innovation and Technology (IMIT). I head Promote, a multi-disciplinary research group doing research into technology- and innovation management in the process industries. I also teach courses in innovation and technology management to both business and engineering students and supervise at the Bs.C., Ms.C. and Ph.D. levels. I’m the director of studies for all Ph.D. programs at the department of ETS and a member of the Center for Inter-organizational Innovation Research (CiiR). Prior research by me have been published in the California Management Review, Journal of Product Innovation Management, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, R&D Management, Technovation, Journal of Engineering and Technology Management, Technological Forecasting & Social Change, Technology Analysis & Strategic Management, Journal of Small Business Management, International Journal of Technology Management, and others.

Research

Current and ongoing projects address the front-end of the innovation process, management and governance of pilot- and demonstration plants, open innovation, innovation measurement, knowledge transfer and knowledge leakage, inter-organizational collaboration for innovation in new process technologies, processes for product development and process development, new business models, and development of energy systems. This research is financed by Vinnova, the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research, the Swedish research council Formas, the Ragnar Söderberg foundation, and other funding bodies, and is often conducted in close collaboration with leading firms such as Atlas Copco, LKAB, Ericsson, Höganäs, Outotec, Volvo, Prime, United Minds, SCA, Scania and others.
